The new generation ORAFLEX® 0.5mm 118XX is a foam mounting tape specifically designed for medium and wide-web flexo printing.

This is an upgraded version of the ORAFLEX 0.5mm 116XX mounting tape, with adhesion increased by up to 20%, enhancing the tape’s reusability and optimizing production costs.

The ORAFLEX® 0.5mm tape is made from odorless, solvent-resistant acrylic adhesive. It allows for repositioning during plate mounting and leaves no adhesive residue on the printing plate or cylinder.

ORAFLEX® Cushion tape has a multi-layer structure. Its compressible foam technology, combined with a reinforced PE film layer, ensures that the tape thickness is precisely optimized with a tolerance of +/- 0.02 mm. The polymer foam layer reduces rebound, while the reinforced PE film helps minimize dot gain.

Unlike the previous generation of ORAFLEX® Cushion 0.5mm tape, the new ORAFLEX® Cushion 118XX 0.5mm offers three hardness levels (soft, medium, and hard) and three adhesion levels on the printing cylinder. This makes it easier than ever to choose the right combination of hardness and adhesion, meeting a wide range of printing requirements.

• ORAFLEX 1182X is a soft pink tape designed for multi-color process printing (image printing) with minimal dot gain.
• ORAFLEX 1185X is a medium white tape that meets the requirements of most prints, including images, text, and solid backgrounds.
• ORAFLEX 1188X is a hard blue tape optimized for ink transfer on prints that are primarily solids and text.

ORAFLEX® Cushion 0.5mm tape has a high degree of uniformity and low thickness tolerance under printing pressure, allowing operators to quickly adjust the printing pressure for new print jobs. ORAFLEX® Cushion protects the printing plate from deformation and provides the best printing results, avoiding defects such as “printing streaks” caused by machine vibration at high printing speeds.
