NEW GENERATION PLATE MOUNTING TAPE 0.38MM ORAFLEX 117XX

ORAFLEX 0.38mm 117XX is a line of foam mounting tapes specifically developed for narrow-width flexographic label printing.

This is an upgraded version of the ORAFLEX 0.38mm 115XX mounting tape, featuring a 20% increase in adhesive strength, completely eliminating tape detachment when changing printing plates. It also improves the tape’s reusability, helping to optimize production costs.

The ORAFLEX 0.38mm tape is made from odorless, solvent-resistant acrylic adhesive, offering repositionability during plate mounting without leaving residue on the printing plate or cylinder.

The ORAFLEX 0.38mm tape features a multi-layered structure. Its compressible foam technology, combined with a reinforced PE film layer, ensures that the tape thickness is precisely optimized with a tolerance of +/- 0.02mm. The polymer foam layer minimizes rebound, while the reinforced PE film reduces dot gain.

Unlike the previous generation of ORAFLEX® Cushion 0.38mm tape, the new ORAFLEX® Cushion 117XX 0.38mm offers three levels of hardness (soft, medium, and hard) and three adhesion levels on the printing cylinder. This makes it easier than ever to select the right combination of hardness and adhesion, meeting a wide range of printing demands.

ORAFLEX 1172X (soft hardness) in pink is designed for fine screen printing (image printing), minimizing dot gain.
ORAFLEX 1175X (medium hardness) in white is suitable for most print jobs, including images, text, and color backgrounds.
ORAFLEX 1178X (hard hardness) in blue is optimized for ink transfer in prints that are mainly solid and text-based.

The ORAFLEX 0.38mm tape provides consistent thickness with low tolerance under printing pressure, allowing operators to quickly adjust printing pressure for new jobs. ORAFLEX 0.38mm protects the printing plate from distortion and ensures optimal print results, preventing issues like “print banding” caused by machine vibration at high printing speeds.
